Welcome to the ArchaeoPool!

The ArchaeoPool is a modern application platform for archaeologists, in which you can present yourself proactively with your qualifications and experience.

The ArchaeoBW GmbH, founded in 2016, is an archaeological service provider that specializes initially in Baden-Württemberg. Our experienced team is made up of archaeologists and professionals from all over Europe. For our projects, we are always looking for specialists who carry out archaeological excavations and their follow-up together with us. Whether open space or city center - from the Neolithic to the early modern times - we are the first point of contact for rescue excavations throughout Baden-Württemberg.

Please note, as this is important: If you would like to work with us for longer than three months you are legally obliged to register a binding address of residence in Germany!

Possible Responsibilities

The areas of responsibility are divided into four compensation groups (VG I-IV):

VG I: Archaeologist, anthropologist
VG II: Excavation technician, archaeological data processor (ADV)
VG III: Excavation specialist, machinist, finds specialist
VG IV: Excavation worker, finds reviser

Skill Requirements

The areas of responsibility are divided into four compensation groups:

VG I: Scientist position

Completed archaeology degree (at least M.A.)
Relevant, proven experience in conducting archaeological excavations
Very good knowledge of the archaeology in southwest Germany
Mobile, resilient, team player
Experience in leadership
Organizational and improvisation talent
Binding and polite appearance as well as high social competence
Fluent German and basic English language skills

VG II: Technician positions

Completed training or degree in excavation engineering or completed studies in archaeology (at least B.A.)
Relevant, verifiable experience in archaeological fieldwork
Very good knowledge of Tachymeter / DGPS
Very good knowledge of DSLR cameras
Experience with SfM and GIS systems
Mobile, resilient, team player
Organizational and improvisation talent
Experience in leadership
At least basic German and English language skills

VG III: Specialist positions

Proven experience and interest in archaeological field work / find work
Optional: Experience in handling a mini excavator
Basic knowledge of excavation techniques
Mobile, resilient, team player

VG IV: Excavation worker, finds reviser

Interest in archaeological field work / find work
Student of an archaeological course
Specialist with verifiable excavation experience
